Product Details

The BX series is ideal for use in field operations or bad environments where explosion-proof and sealed environments are required. In order to meet the explosion-proof requirements, the BX series housing has a flame channel inside, which can cool the flammable gas to below the ignition temperature before contacting the external flammable gas. The flame channel of the BX is an expanding piston between the switch chamber and the switch head and the spiral of the housing.

These products are either packaged for use in the field, or designed for flammable gas/dust environments. They can be used interactively with HDLS products through a connection board. All switch heads can adjust the magnetic field in 90° increments. The side lever BX product can be adjusted for clockwise and counterclockwise excitation.

Honeywell's explosion-proof switches are specially designed for users in harsh environments. BX is designed to seal against corrosion, water, dust, and oil. These external environments are defined in NEMA 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 13 and IP67 and EC 529.

These enclosures also comply with European harsh environment design: EExd IIC T6 category II 2 GD, SIRA 00ATEX 1037X. All BX series products meet the European Directive's equipment and protection system requirements for potentially explosive gases (94/9/EC). These requirements are in line with the ATEX Directive.

Reaching the standards of EN50014 1997 and EN50018 1994 ensures compliance with special health and safety requirements. The tube type 1/2-14NPT and 3/4-14NPT of the BX series products also meet the design requirements of the North American harsh environment: Class I, Group B, C and D; Class 2, Group E, F and G, and UL standards : UL894, CSA standard: C22.2 No. 25-1996, C22.2 No. 30-M1986.
